Andress Campus Crime Stoppers
Welcome to Andress HS Campus Crime Stoppers
Campus Crime Stoppers is a non-profit corporation, and through
supported by the school district, is a separate entity from the school
district. Our mission is to provide students with the opportunity to give
information by phone, anonymously, about any illegal activities at their
campus, thus providing a drug free and safe learning environment.  This
organization gives rewards for tips that prevent a crime or tips that lead to
the arrest or expulsion of a student committing an offense. The reward
amount is decided by the student board of directors.

What is Campus Crime Stoppers?

Statistics have shown that the majority of our students
know what crimes are being committees and who is
committing the crimes. The Campus Crime Stoppers
program will allow students to call a secure phone line
and report those crimes to an adult school sponsor. The
adult school sponsor will report the tips to the
appropriate law enforcement agency that will follow up
on the information. If the information has helped the
school in solving a crime, or administrative action is
taken regarding the information, the student informant
will receive a cash reward. The reward system is an
effective incentive for the students to report crime.

Campus Crime Stoppers is a successful, national
program that has been implemented in over 1,000
schools. The Campus Crime Stoppers in El Paso will be
under the umbrella of Crime Stoppers of El Paso, Inc.
This will allow them to be a certified program thus
protecting the school sponsors in keeping the student
informant anonymous. Only a certified Crime Stoppers
program is protected under Texas Government Code
regarding evidence of communications. As a certified
program, Campus Crime Stoppers will be required to
have regular student board meetings, complete monthly
statistical reports, and follow Robert's Rules of Order at
all board meetings.
Crime Stoppers of El Paso, Inc. will assist the school campus with reward money,
phone equipment, and office supplies. Each school will be required to participate in
fundraisers to assist in the funding of the program. Crime Stoppers of El Paso, Inc.
is a non-profit organization that is funded by the community.

Campus Crime Stoppers is to students and their schools what the adult program is
to the community in which they reside. Campus Crime Stoppers provides a means
for students to report on criminal activity or planned criminal activity, anonymously
and without fear of discovery or retaliation. By using the secure telephone number,
544-CLUE (2583), the students can give information to the appropriate law
enforcement agency and assign a code number to the informant. The coded number
is used to claim a reward when the case is cleared.

Dedicated in September 1999, the many High School Campus Crime Stoppers have
protected their teachers and friends from weapons in the school, threats of
violence between students, and protection of private property from vandals. As you
hug your children good bye each school morning, you can feel safer knowing that
Campus Crime Stoppers is operating in their school
